The floor for an arranged and comfortable cellar? Furnish your cellar, bring coziness! The basement can be a real room in the house. Whether it’s for storing bottles or creating an underground bar, you want to feel good in there. For this reason, the floor must be spotless!

Our built-in basement floor tiles, durable and easy to maintain, are the perfect solution for a first-class floor! Choose Ribtrax Pro or Smoothtrax Pro openwork tile to let your floor breathe and thus maximize ventilation and keep your basement spacious.

Flooring for your basement that is easy to install

In a small and enclosed space with limited ventilation options, we want to use as few chemicals as possible. In that sense, our basement floor tile is perfect. They install without glue and without chemicals. Start at the most visible corner and attach the tiles to each other. It’s easy, fast and doesn’t require any special tools.

Since no drying time is required, the room can be used immediately after tile installation. Set up the furniture, and that’s it!

Do you need to move? SWISSTRAX floor tiles are also very easy to dismantle. Take them with you to your new home!

Equip your basement with easy-to-clean floor tiles

The basement floor must be ventilated, this limits the accumulation of moisture. SWISSTRAX basement floor tiles provide the necessary ventilation (Ribtrax Pro and Smoothtrax Pro models). If you are not concerned about moisture, you can use a “hard” floor tile (Diamondtrax Pro or Home). However, in the cellar we recommend using openwork slabs with a checkerboard effect.

In fact, their drainage structure allows air to circulate. The clamp mount also allows you to clean or dry a specific point of the floor without having to remove the entire floor.

Caring for the slabs is very easy. Vacuum to remove dust (unless the floor is laid directly on the ground), then clean the tile surface with a standard household cleaner and mop.

For more stubborn stains, you will also have the option of cleaning the stove by scraping it some more, or taking the stove apart to clean it individually.

Basement floor tiles are resistant to many common household chemicals. If necessary, these tiles can be detached as desired.

Which floor slab to choose for a built-up basement?

With our diverse assortment, you have a wide range of style and color choices. Create your own customized project by letting your imagination run wild.

A quick guide to choosing flooring for a built-in cellar.

Design above all else: Ribtrax Pro

With 20 colors in permanent stock, Ribtrax Pro floor tile is our “favorite” tile.

A checkerboard effect, a combination of colors, this openwork board allows dust to fall between the 6mm thick strips. This makes it ideal for ground flooring as it stabilizes easily while allowing the natural soil to breathe.

Maximum walking comfort: Smoothtrax Pro

Are you going to spend some more time in your remodeled basement (bar, billiards, “man cave”, etc.)? Our Smoothtrax Pro tiles will be your best allies. Flat surface for maximum comfort and even easier cleaning (less space between the ribs: 3 mm).

Dry cellar or insulated cellar: choose solid slabs

If the room is protected from moisture, you can opt for so-called “solid” boards. It is a tile with a hard surface, with no streaks. The tiles will be very easy to clean, but ventilation will be reduced.

Two solutions for monolithic slabs from SWISSTRAX:

  • Diamondtrax slabs, giving the look of a workshop

  • Vinyltrax Pro tiles with parquet or marble effect: turn your basement into a living room!

In conclusion: boards should be chosen according to your project and especially according to the level of humidity. If you need help, whether it’s selecting plates or sizing, our team is here to help.
